How a factory relocation works

Let us have both addresses, an approximate number of machines and the day production has to be back up.
Both sites are surveyed and the asset register drawn up. A smaller move can be priced from a desktop survey the same day.
We send a quote with a programme laid out in move order, plus method statements, risk assessments and lift plans.
Our team extracts and packs the plant, then transports each load when its turn comes.
At the new premises every machine is reinstalled, levelled and set to line, then handed over for recommissioning.

Common questions

Our Marton works has a paint booth and extraction ducting. Do they move the same way as the machines?

Yes. The booth panels and duct runs are numbered as they come down, travel with the rest of the plant and go back up at the new unit alongside the machines they serve.

We are handing back a unit off Progress Way. What state will the floor be in?

Clear of plant and racking, with holding-down bolts cut back flush. Any repair to the slab can be added to our programme or left to your dilapidations contractor.

Can we keep producing while we move?

In most cases, yes, for part of the plant. We move the lines you can spare first and get them running at the new site, then bring the rest across. It means more visits, and it keeps output going while the move is under way. We tell you at survey which parts can overlap.

How are disconnection and recommissioning handled?

We agree who does what at survey and write it into the programme. It is a mix of our crew, your maintenance team and the equipment manufacturers, and everyone knows their part before the first machine moves. Recommissioning is done with your engineers or the manufacturer.
