Common questions

We are replacing a line in a Trafford Park factory. Can the old one be sold on?

Often it can. Where a buyer is in view the line is uncoupled at its joints, match-marked and packed as it comes out. Say so at survey and the sequence is written that way.

Who arranges a road closure when sections load from the street?

We do, with Manchester, Salford or Trafford council, once the load-out dates are set. Bus lanes and pedestrianised streets narrow the standing position, so section sizes follow.

How is dismantling different from demolition?

Demolition takes a structure down and the value is in the cleared site. Dismantling takes plant apart in the reverse of the order it went up, so what comes off keeps its value as equipment, as parts, or as material worth more separated than mixed. The planning takes longer and the work is slower, and on the right job it pays for itself.

Who cleans and certifies the plant before cutting?
