Access and planning for dismantling in Derby

Stainless is kept away from carbon steel, cable and non-ferrous go into their own containers instead of the mixed skip, and material is cut to weighable sizes. Common questions
Can you cut plant out beside a clean inspection room?
Yes. The area and the route out are screened and sheeted, and the hot work position is agreed with your team before a date is set. Where burning is ruled out, the joints are parted cold.
How does a redundant overhead crane at Spondon come out?
The runway steel and the columns carrying it are surveyed first, since those beams often brace the building. Crab and bridge come down by mobile crane through the doors or an opened roof bay, then the rails and brackets.
How is dismantling different from demolition?
Demolition takes a structure down and the value is in the cleared site. Dismantling takes plant apart in the reverse of the order it went up, so what comes off keeps its value as equipment, as parts, or as material worth more separated than mixed. The planning takes longer and the work is slower, and on the right job it pays for itself.
Who cleans and certifies the plant before cutting?
Cleaning, purging and gas-free certification sit with the site operator or a specialist, and the sequence is planned around those certificates. Several are valid for one shift only, so the cutting is arranged to match when they can be issued. We agree all of that at survey and write it into the programme.
