Access and planning for a factory move in Darlington

For a larger move we survey both sites and compile the asset register; a smaller one is priced the same day from a desktop survey.
Your quote sets out the order machines will leave and arrive, with method statements, risk assessments and lift plans.
Each machine is extracted and packed, then taken to the new site when its turn comes.
There it goes back on its base, is levelled and set to line, and is handed over for recommissioning.

Common questions

Can you look at both of our buildings before we sign for the new one?

Yes. With our depot in Darlington, visiting your current unit and the one you are considering is quick to arrange. We check the new building’s doors and floors and tell you what it needs.

Will tall machines get under the railway bridges on the way out of town?

Each one is measured on its trailer at survey and routed to clear every bridge. If no route is high enough, it travels in sections and is rebuilt on site.

Can we keep producing while we move?

In most cases, yes, for part of the plant. We move the lines you can spare first and get them running at the new site, then bring the rest across. It means more visits, and it keeps output going while the move is under way. We tell you at survey which parts can overlap.

How are disconnection and recommissioning handled?

We agree who does what at survey and write it into the programme. It is a mix of our crew, your maintenance team and the equipment manufacturers, and everyone knows their part before the first machine moves. Recommissioning is done with your engineers or the manufacturer.
