Access and planning for a factory move in Derby

How a factory relocation works

Tell us both addresses, roughly how many machines are involved and when production has to restart.
We survey both sites and draw up the asset register, or price a smaller move the same day from a desktop survey.
The quote comes with a programme in moving order, plus method statements, risk assessments and lift plans.
Each item is extracted, packed and taken to the new site in its planned slot.
We reinstall, level and set every machine to line, then hand it over for recommissioning.

Common questions

Our machine shop is only moving across Derby, from Chaddesden to Spondon. Do you still need to visit?

Not always. For a short move of a few machines, photos and weights can be enough for a desktop survey and a same-day quote. We come out when the way out is tight or the new floor is unknown.

Our Derby plant is splitting between two new sites. Can one move serve both?

Yes. Each item on the asset register is marked with its destination, and loads are booked so each site receives its machines in the order it needs them.

Can we keep producing while we move?

In most cases, yes, for part of the plant. We move the lines you can spare first and get them running at the new site, then bring the rest across. It means more visits, and it keeps output going while the move is under way. We tell you at survey which parts can overlap.

How are disconnection and recommissioning handled?

We agree who does what at survey and write it into the programme. It is a mix of our crew, your maintenance team and the equipment manufacturers, and everyone knows their part before the first machine moves. Recommissioning is done with your engineers or the manufacturer.
