Access and planning for lifts in Wigan

Common questions

Can you work around production on a food site?

Yes, and that is how most of this work happens. Plant swaps get planned into a cleaning window, a night shift or a weekend shutdown, with the route in and the standing position agreed with the site team beforehand.

Is old mine working a problem for crane set-up?

It can be, which is why we check rather than assume. Made ground and old workings change what the ground will carry, so we look at ground bearing, plan the outrigger positions and use crane mats where the bearing is marginal.

Can a crane get into a tight industrial unit yard?

Often, yes. City cranes and pick and carry machines are built for restricted access, and where a yard is too tight we look at reaching over from the road instead. Send us photos of the approach and we’ll tell you which option works.
