Access and planning for dismantling in Norwich
Settled at survey, before any cutting starts on a Norwich job:
- What the plant held. The site operator or a specialist handles cleaning, purging and gas-free certification, and a certificate often lasts one shift, so cutting follows the issue dates.

Dismantling for reuse, or for recovery
Plant with a second address waiting for it is handled differently from the first cut onwards. Each item is match-marked and its position recorded as it is released, joints are broken at flanges and bolts where the connection allows, and each piece is packed for the road. A machine sold on as working equipment gets the same care.
Where plant has finished, the money is in the sorting: stainless kept apart from carbon steel, cable and non-ferrous kept out of the mixed skip, and material sized so a weighbridge can price it. Common questions
Our plant sits behind a listed frontage in the centre. Can it come down?
Yes. The standing position is fixed first, because it decides the machine and the size each section is cut to. Fabric under the load path is protected beforehand.
How do large sections leave a site out in the county?
Along a route checked end to end at quote stage. Loads leave Norfolk on the A47 or the A11, and sections are cut to what the turnings take.
How is dismantling different from demolition?
Demolition takes a structure down and the value is in the cleared site. Dismantling takes plant apart in the reverse of the order it went up, so what comes off keeps its value as equipment, as parts, or as material worth more separated than mixed. The planning takes longer and the work is slower, and on the right job it pays for itself.
Who cleans and certifies the plant before cutting?
Cleaning, purging and gas-free certification sit with the site operator or a specialist, and the sequence is planned around those certificates. Several are valid for one shift only, so the cutting is arranged to match when they can be issued. We agree all of that at survey and write it into the programme.
