Access and planning for a factory move in Manchester

Working beside the Metrolink. Tram lines cross the centre and run out to Eccles, Altrincham and Trafford Park. Where a crane or a tall load comes near the overhead wires, we settle the working distance with the tram operator before the date is fixed.

How a factory relocation works

Tell us both addresses, a rough machine count and when production must restart.
We survey both sites and compile the asset register, or price a smaller move the same day from a desktop survey.
Your quote comes with a programme in move sequence, plus method statements, risk assessments and lift plans.
Machines are extracted and packed, then carried in their planned order.
Each machine goes back on its base, is levelled and set to line, then handed over for recommissioning.

Common questions

We are leaving Trafford Park for a unit near the M61. Can you clear the mezzanine and racking before we hand the old unit back?

Yes. Once the machines are out, our crew can take down mezzanine floors and racking and strip redundant pipework and supports, so the unit goes back in the state your lease asks for.

Can our Manchester works move to a new site outside the North West?

Yes. A longer journey means more of the plant is crated or wrapped for the road, and loads are booked so each one arrives when its base at the new site is ready. The survey, asset register and programme work the same way.

Can we keep producing while we move?

In most cases, yes, for part of the plant. We move the lines you can spare first and get them running at the new site, then bring the rest across. It means more visits, and it keeps output going while the move is under way. We tell you at survey which parts can overlap.

How are disconnection and recommissioning handled?

We agree who does what at survey and write it into the programme. It is a mix of our crew, your maintenance team and the equipment manufacturers, and everyone knows their part before the first machine moves. Recommissioning is done with your engineers or the manufacturer.
