This notice explains what personal information Synergy Lifting Ltd collects, why we collect it, what we do with it and what rights you have. If anything here is unclear, please get in touch and we will explain it.

Who we are

Synergy Lifting Ltd is a crane hire, contract lifting and industrial services company. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 09361575, and our registered office and depot is Unit 34, Forge Way North, Cleveland Industrial Estate, Darlington, DL1 2PB.

We are the data controller for the information described in this notice. You can reach us on 0800 008 6096 or at office@synergy-lifting.co.uk.

What we collect

Most of the personal information we hold is the ordinary business contact detail you would expect: your name, the company you work for, your job title, your phone number, your email address and the site address for the work. Beyond that:

  • Enquiries and quotes. When you fill in a form on this website, email us or call us, we keep what you send us, including drawings, photographs and site details, so we can quote for the work and carry it out.
  • Phone calls. The phone numbers shown on this website are tracking numbers. When you call one we record which number you dialled, which page you were on and the date, time and length of the call, so we can see which pages and adverts generate enquiries. Calls connect to our normal office lines.
  • Live chat. If you use the chat window on this site we keep the conversation and anything you tell us in it.
  • Job records. Where we carry out work for you we keep the job file: lift plans, method statements, risk assessments, delivery and site paperwork, and the names of the people involved on both sides.
  • Website use. We collect standard analytics about how the site is used, such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser, and where you arrived from. This is covered by our cookie notice and by your cookie choices.
  • Applications. If you apply for a job with us we keep your application and anything you send with it.

We do not ask for and do not want payment card details through this website.

Why we use it and our lawful basis

  • To quote for work and to carry it out. This is either performance of a contract with you, or our legitimate interest in responding to a business enquiry.
  • To keep the records the law and our insurers require. This is a legal obligation and our legitimate interest in being able to evidence how a lift was planned and carried out.
  • To run and improve the website and our advertising. This is our legitimate interest, and where cookies are involved, your consent.
  • To keep in touch about work we have done or quoted for. This is our legitimate interest. You can ask us to stop at any time and we will.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. We do use suppliers who handle information on our behalf, and the main ones are:

  • our website hosting and backup providers
  • Microsoft, for our email and file storage
  • Google, for website analytics and advertising measurement
  • WhatConverts, for the call tracking described above
  • Tidio, for the live chat on this website
  • Elfsight, for the coverage map on our website
  • our accountants, insurers and professional advisers

We will also share information where we have to, for example with a client’s principal contractor as part of the paperwork for a lift, with an insurer if there is an incident, or with a regulator or the police where we are legally required to.

Some of these suppliers process information outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards in the UK GDPR, such as the UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Addendum.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries that do not turn into work for as long as they are commercially useful, and then delete them. Where we carry out work, we keep the job file and the associated correspondence for as long as we need it for tax, insurance and legal purposes, which for lifting records is a number of years after the work is finished. Job applications are kept for the recruitment process and a short period afterwards unless you ask us to keep them on file.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it
  • have inaccurate information corrected
  • ask us to delete information where we no longer need it
  • object to us using your information for our legitimate interests, including marketing
  • ask us to restrict how we use your information while a query is resolved
  • ask for your information in a portable format where we hold it on the basis of consent or a contract
  • withdraw consent where we relied on it, including your cookie choices

To exercise any of these, email office@synergy-lifting.co.uk or write to us at the address above. We will respond within one month.

If you are not happy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.

Cookies

This website uses cookies and similar technologies for the site to work, to measure how it is used and to measure our advertising. You are asked for your choices when you first arrive, and you can change them at any time through the cookie notice on the site.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant we will say so clearly.
